Ghost Rider (2007)

This movie was ridiculous. It was only slightly entertaining, especially since the flaming skeleton made me laugh, but pretty much just a bad movie.

The Usual Suspects (1995)

Amazing genius movie. If it bothers you, there is a lot of language and some violence, but this movie deserves to be seen. Phenomenal acting. Kevin Spacey is great. It's directed by Bryan Singer, who has done a lot of the Marvel films: X-men 1&2, and Superman Returns. This is my favorite of his, right up there with the two x-men films.

Catch And Release (2007)

As far as romantic comedies go, this movie sucked! This movies is formed by love triangles and sleasy people. Just stupid.

Deja Vu (2006)

Really bitchin' movie. Cool visual effects. Ending was a little strange, and the movie is kind of typical action style, but it was entertaining and the acting was good.

Children of Men (2006)

This movie was shot in such a unique way you feel as if you are there. There are these extremely long shots that put you in the movie with the character and it was amazing how much they must have gone through to achieve the desired affect. I really enjoyed the movie although it was slightly confusing in some parts and very violent. The direction and acting was great.

Curse of the Golden Flower (2006)

Please promise me that if you watch this movie, you watch the Chinese version. I watched the english dubbed version and it totally killed it. That said, the movie was visually stunning and so very violent at the end. It is not a feel good movie, but was done very beautifully.

Fracture (2007)

This movie was pretty good. It was sort of typical. It's about a man who shoots his wife (who's having an affair) and figures out how to outwit the prosecuting attorney and get away with the crime. If this plot sounds interesting to you, it's worth watching, but it wasn't necessarily a movie I was ecstatic about.

S1M0NE (2002)

This movie was entertaining enough and an interesting concept. I didn't like the ending much and I've seen Al Pacino do much better films.

The Good Shepherd (2006)

Very sad movie. Throughout the movie they focus on the truth about who you can trust. It was a movie that made me think. The acting was phenomenal. Although it was slow, I'm glad I saw it. I would probably not watch it again though.

The Queen (2006)

This movie was good, but kind of boring. I wasn't very interested and really didn't see what all the hype was about. It doesn't seem so great that it would be nominated for best picture. One reason I'm really glad I saw it was because I felt the movie helped me to understand my grandmother a bit more. She is a very unemotional, private person and it is really hard to understand someone like that. They come off looking very uncaring, but it could be just how they were brought up.

Spiderman 3 (2007)

Spiderman 3 was entertaining, at least, but not that great. There were parts where almost all the audience was just laughing because of how ridiculous the scene was. Toby turns emo and most of the flying wasn't really great animation, but some of the effects were really cool, like the sandman and the ending, I thought, was well written.

The Fountain (2006)

Creepy creepy creepy! and SOooo weird. The middle of the movie was decent and tended to be almost heart-warming, but by the end, it got so disturbingly weird and creepy that I wanted to barf. It seemed to be a movie that was trying to show a story of death and the fountain of youth. There was a weird spirituality throughout the movie that I was trying to understand. It never made any sense and just got way too weird. Even though it was decent acting, that is not the way I want to remember Hugh Jackman, poor guy. At the end of the film he drinks white sap and turns into a bush.

Reservoir Dogs (1992)

This is the movie that got Quentin Tarantino noticed. It is an intense and violent film showing the events that take place before and after a robbery. The story is phenomenal and the acting as well. But it is a pretty heavy film. I think it is probably my favorite Tarantino film.

Volver (2006)

Awesome movie. This movie was funny, enjoyable, and beautiful. I would definitely recommend it. The only bad part was when Penelope Cruz tried to lip sync. The story and directing was fabulous.

Bobby (2006)

I did enjoy this movie and I think Emilio Esteves did a great job, especially considering it was his first film. It is a movie about all these different scenarios surrounding the shooting of Robert F. ("Bobby") Kennedy. Although I liked it, my friend Anna nailed the weirdness about the movie...they try to portray a sense of awe throughout the whole movie that doesn't really need to be there. It creates an unnecessary tension and also the amount of well-known actors in the film was more distracting than successful. But in the end, I was really impressed with Esteves' writing and directing skills.

Short Cuts (1993)

This is a 3 hour movie. I ended up watching most of it in 1-hour increments, here and there, mostly because I was bored with it. I didn't even watch the ending. I think it could have been good, but it was way too long to tell. There are a lot of good actors in it, but it didn't keep my attention.

Quinceanera (2006)

First of all, for those of you who actually check in on me to see all the movies I've seen, Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Work has overcome me and I'm busier than ever. But I have seen a movie here and there, so here are some of the ones I've seen over the last 2 weeks:
This movie was pretty good. The acting was bad, but the story was really interesting, which made up for it. The movie was able to address several issues of race, sexuality, abortion, families, incomes, etc. without feeling overbearing and without straying too far from the story line, and I think that's what I liked the most about the movie.
